Allspice, Whole

Native to the West Indies and Central America. The English thought it combined the flavor of cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves, giving it the name Allspice. Used whole, allspice is good for pickling and mulling blends. Ground, it is a popular baking spice used in breads and pies. It can also be used in jerk seasonings, sausage, and curries.
