We love this time of year. Gardens are overflowing with produce and local farmers markets are in full swing. Right now is the perfect time for some good old, mouth watering, Ohio-grown corn.

As with most things, we like to get a little creative with our favorite treats and corn is no exception. Here’s a few ideas to change up how you enjoy corn.

Try Different Salts

Almost everyone loves butter and salt on their corn. With our large variety of flavored salts, you could have corn for dinner every night of the week and not run out of different flavor options. A few of our favorites are Applewood Smoked Sea Salt, Nathan’s Original – Blabbermouth and Nathan’s Original – Labenero.

Mexican Corn
Once you try this unique corn recipe, you may never go back to salt and butter.

Ingredients

  • Coarse salt
  • 4 ears corn, husks removed
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups freshly grated queso fresco
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Lime wedges, for serving

Directions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add corn and cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain.
  2. Place a thick wooden skewer or dowel lengthwise up through base of each ear of corn. Working with one ear at a time, spread a tablespoon mayonnaise over kernels. Using a spoon, sprinkle 1/2 cup queso fresco over mayonnaise. Season with cayenne pepper and serve with lime wedges.
