Thanksgiving is just a few days away. There are side dishes to select, potatoes to mash and pies to bake. And let’s not forget about the star of Thanksgiving, the turkey.

Have you started thinking about how you’re going to prepare your turkey?  I may be a little biased, but my favorite way to enjoy a turkey is by using our turkey brine. It cuts down on roasting time.  It also makes the turkey juicy and tender.

Using our brine on your Thanksgiving turkey is very easy. In a large pot, dissolve entire packet of brine in two gallons of cool water. Add turkey. Soak for at least 24 hours (if you want to soak it longer, don’t go more than three days). After your turkey has soaked for the appropriate amount of time, remove it from the water and pat dry with a cloth or paper towel.

As far as how to prepare the turkey, that’s up to you. I prefer to smoke my turkey, but you can roast or fry it.
