Was this one of your New Year’s resolutions? If it was, spices are a great way to help you do just that. Adding more vegetables to your diet is a key factor in developing healthier eating habits.

I love vegetables. But, if you’re like me, eating plain steamed veggies can get boring after a while. To help add flavor, without adding calories, to my steamed veggies I sprinkle them with Paprika, Cumin, Black Pepper, Turmeric and add a squeeze of lime or lemon.  This combo is great on a wide range of vegetables from carrots to broccoli and everything in between. If you have a few calories to spare, I also recommend tossing slices of zucchini, yellow squash and red onion with our Zesty Italian blend and a little bit of olive oil. Saute for a few minutes and you have a veggie dish bursting with flavor.

If you’re trying to drop a few pounds in 2013, spices can also help you do that.  Cinnamon, cayenne, black pepper, mustard seed and ginger can help you with your weight loss goals. Read more about it in this article from  .
